This historic farmhouse was one of the oldest homes in Highland Park, and was designated as historically significant by the city. The historic designation precluded anyone from tearing the house down, but at the time, it was also uninhabitable. After 18 months of construction, the house was brought up to date with current amenities but also restored to its original characteristics, using the same woods and finishes that would have been used over 100 years ago. The home was awarded with official recognition from Highland Park Historical Commission.
